We've all heard the phrase, "You don't know what you don't know." Well, in 2009, while purchasing my first newly built home, I never knew I could hire an inspector to conduct a buyer's inspection or the end-of-warranty inspection. According to the realtor, the appraisal was all that I needed. Well, folks, you can say I learned the hard way after thousands of dollars in repairs and selling the home. The other thing I learned is to not expect what I don’t inspect. The bottom line is that I needed an inspector to identify the issues before the purchase in order to negotiate a better deal. I also needed that inspector to perform the end of warranty inspection, so that the builder would be forced perform those repairs at their expense, rather than mine. Needless to say, this motivated me. Fast forward to today, and I am a certified and trained residential and commercial building inspector helping and educating new and experienced buyers, sellers, and realtors to protect their investment like it’s my own.

It's common for people to overlook the importance of these inspections, especially if they're buying or selling a property for the first time. These inspections can provide valuable information about a property's condition, potential issues, and maintenance needs that you might not know otherwise.

There are several reasons why you should schedule a home inspection. For example, if you're buying a home, an inspection can help you decide whether to proceed with the purchase, negotiate repairs, or even back out of the deal. If you're selling a home, an inspection can help you identify and fix any issues before putting the property on the market, potentially increasing its value and reducing the risk of surprises during the sale process.

Ultimately, home inspections provide peace of mind and help ensure you make an informed decision and sound investment. It's always a good idea to do your research and consider getting a professional inspection before buying or selling a property.

Let’s work toward that peace of mind together by taking action today and scheduling a property inspection with a qualified inspector. Don't leave your investment to chance - a small investment in a property inspection now could save you from major headaches later. I look forward to earning your business and we’ll see you at your inspection.
